Due to their popularity last year, Irish Ferries is running wine accompanied mini-cruises from Rosslare to Cherbourg departing Rosslare Friday 5 October and Friday 30 November. Irish Ferries are again offering wine lovers and novices the opportunity to go shopping for wine bargains in France escorted by Master of Wine Martin Moran – the well-known writer and broadcaster.

The dates of this year’s mini-cruises were chosen to coincide with the Wine Sales “Foire au Vin” in the hypermarkets in Cherbourg for next Autumn. There is a wide choice - Auchan’s sale runs from 19th September to 6th October and LeClerc sale takes place between 26th September and 6th October.

Friday 5 October OR Friday 30 November depart Rosslare to Cherbourg at 16 00 hrs and spend up to six hours ashore in Cherbourg on Saturday and arrive back in Rosslare on Sunday at 11 30 hrs.

During your cruise, Ireland’s foremost wine expert – Martin Moran – will conduct wine tastings on board, preview some of the wines that can be bought ashore plus offer advice on the best bargains available.

In Cherbourg, passengers will visit a selection of outlets where savings can be €10 – €12 per bottle of champagne, over €10 spirits, up to €8 on wine; not to mention the great savings on beer and DIY goods – and don’t forget sale prices will apply at the outlets already mentioned.
